Maryland State Bar Association Annual Meeting

Toby, Josh and I attended the MSBA’s annual meeting this week and got a chance to attend several CLE’s on recent developments in Maryland law as well as mix and mingle with attorneys with whom we are usually arguing with from across a courtroom. In particular I got to discuss all sides of thorny issues that might arise in wrongful death cases and in cases that might result in joint tortfeasor releases. The MSBA classes are really excellent because the lawyers discussing these issues litigate them every day and, with everybody participating, can discuss them from every practical viewpoint. We also got the benefit of meeting and/or attending CLE’s given by many of our Judges, including Chief Judge Robert M. Bell, Judge Glenn T. Harrell, Jr., Judge James R. Eyler, Judge Julia B. Weatherly, and Judge Steven I. Platt, just to name a few. Throw in a fabulous beach and an even more fabulous sunset and O.C. is clearly the place to be.
